I'm sure you've all seen this:So here's my question. I had this (gave it to a friend once I bought a console), and it has, among others, Centipede on it.The thing is, I was really good at Centipede on this, I could turn the clock. But now I have the console and the cartridge, and I'm lucky to break 100,000. So the question is, anyone know if there are any changes for the games on the joystick?
Or have I suddenly got useless as Centipede? I even tried the cart on 'kiddy' settings, and I can't turn the score. I'm sure you've all seen this:So here's my question.

Atari Games' was the name of what was left of the original Atari's arcade division after the home division was sold to the Tramiels, so I thought this topic would be about a joystick designed after one of the Atari Games machines like Gauntlet or something.
The joystick is the Jakks Pacific Atari 10 in 1. The games on the stick are not emulation and are ports based on different hardware (NES on a chip?). Centipede is very off compared to the 2600 version. The version on the stick doesn't change colors after each level like the 2600 and is indeed easier. Things also get stuck in walls more often in Adventure, there are verious other things off in other games, and the sound is innaccurate, as well. Edited September 12, 2011 by BrianC.
I saw a shirt that said 'old skool gamr' and had, not an atari joystick, but the stupid jaks pacific 10 in 1 joystick. I yelled at my computer screen.Yeah, I saw that shirt too, and I though it was ridiculous.I own that Atari joystic plug n' play.
The games are good, but I already own most of 'em on cartridge. Plus, the sound is funky. This is more like mediocre emulation I'm afraid.
I much prefer playing my Jakks Pacific plug n' play Ms. It has the arcade versions of Ms.

Pac-Man, Xevious, Galaga, Pole Position and Mappy. Bought it at a thrift store for like 5 bucks.Edited September 12, 2011 by pixelated. Circus Atari was quite difficult on itHow could one properly play Circus Atari with a joystick??? You gotta spank that thing with a paddle!i have the manual for some reason.
Never had this stick, but i have the manual. It says that the stick turns so you can use it as a paddle.I never noticed that. I think I sold the last one I had, but now I'm going to have to check.Circus is horrible with a joystick. However, the Jakks paddle version plays quite well. I never noticed any significant differences other than the sound. Edited September 12, 2011 by BigO.

Pac-Man, Xevious, Galaga, Pole Position and Mappy. Bought it at a thrift store for like 5 bucks.I have same thing.
But it picky about the batteries used. I thought it was broken so I took it apart and put it back together. Nothing broken.
Then realized my batteries were the problem. The weird thing is the batteries were ok according to a tester. But it wouldn't work. Costco kirkland batteries work the best. Circus Atari was quite difficult on itHow could one properly play Circus Atari with a joystick???
